Welcome! We know that deciding to go along to church for the first time can be daunting. Here are some answers to questions you might have thought of, and if you have any others, feel free to contact us on 07 871 8667
What we do
Our Worship Service starts at 10.30am and we have some singing, a speaker will bring a message from the Bible and we will take Communion (not necessarily in that order). Communion is a special part of the service where we take a small piece of bread and a tiny cup of grape juice which represents Christ’s sacrifice for us. There is also an opportunity to give financially to the work of the church. You don’t have to join in with either of these, you are welcome to just observe. The service usually finishes around 11.30am. A cup of tea or coffee is available after the service.
What to wear
Just wear what you are comfortable in, whether it happens to be a t-shirt and shorts, or a suit or dress for example, it doesn’t matter. Come as you are!
Will I be singled out?
We usually have people at the door who will greet you as you come in. Feel free to chat as much as you are comfortable with. And no, we won’t single you out in front of everybody, you can just relax. No pressure!
Are kids welcome?
Absolutely! During school terms, we have a school kid’s programme, called Powerhouse, which runs prior to the service at 9.30am, and our Crèche caters for our 0-4 year-olds. During the Worship Service, there are activity sheets for the kids to enjoy, and the crèche room is open, but not supervised.
We also have a Nursery Room close by, if needed, where you can sit in a quiet area with your babies and still see and hear the service as it is live streamed through a TV monitor.
How to find us
We are at 110 Chapel Drive, Te Awamutu, opposite Waipa Christian School and Creators Kindergarten. We have a large car parking area, so just drive on up.
